Bio: I started racing when I was around 12 or 13 years old. We would turn up on a Sunday morning all year round, meeting on a public footpath just down the road from Marsh Tracks is now. We had to dodge walkers and dogs while training on a track that wasn't even 2 meters wide. I remember my first race, it was on the sea front in Aberystwyth I was riding a bike Rhyl CC had loaned me, the Trek 1000 (I think it still get loans out to people now). I got 3rd that day and I just loved it. It wasn't for a couple more season till Marsh Tracks got built and the main racing I had doing was TT's, whether it was the local league or bigger races in Cheshire and Merseyside. I enjoyed TT's and still hold some of the youth and junior course records today, maybe -

I also compete in the Welsh Tristart series and have done this for the past 3 years. Last year I started to compete in road races at marsh tracks to help my fitness for cyclocross and won my age category, I’m..... -

Road and CX Racer. Bio: I started cycling when I was 15 and raced, on occasion, until I was 18 and found the pub. I took on Weight training/body building until a serious motorbike accident in 1995 had me back on my old bicycle as I was unable to walk but could ride a bike. This gave me a little taste again but didn’t start again seriously until May 1998 when I stopped going to the gym completely. I started racing in Feb 1999, racing against juniors such as Steve Cummings and a certain Cavendish during those first couple of years. I did my first Cyclocross race in..... -

I have been riding my bike for as long as I can remember, and been into any type of exercise. My dad was always keen for us to go out on cycle rides; I started really enjoying it when I was about 7 years old. I went on to start racing in the North Wales Go race MTB events, where I progressed up to regional events and had some good results. I won the Welsh U12’s XC MTB series and Championships in 2015. Last season was my first season in Juvenile and I started to find out about how the British Cross Country MTB races work, I raced all but one race with my best finish being 7th and... -

Bio: I used to ride my orange MTB to my mate's house and loved the feeling of freedom when I was 11 years old and a few weeks down the line we joined a local cycling club that was run by John Holt the father of the very successful Joe Holt. I went on Sunday rides every week and absolutely loved it. I went to my local... -

Road Racer. Bio: I got into cycling after the 2012 Olympics. I was inspired by the whole GB thing and wanted to have ago. I went down to a Sunday morning session at Marsh Tracks run by Rhyl CC. I loved it straight away. I just wanted to keep improving and enjoy riding my bike. I started training and racing properly in 2014. In 2015 I did more regional races, as well as my favourite discipline, the Time Trial. After a solid winter and starting track racing at Manchester and Newport. I was given the chance to represent Wales at..... -

Time Trail Captain Bio: My parents bought me a racing bike in 1983. It was silver and red and probably made out of pig iron but I thought it looked really cool – until I ended up face down in a load of nettles and felt it was all the bike’s fault. I then played guitar in different bands up and down the country and had no exercise. Roll on 25 years and a Dr advised me in his best clinical tone ‘get some exercise you lazy man’. So I bought a Merlin Malt 4..... -

I am 14 years old and started racing mountain bikes at the age of 6. I started racing in the North Wales Go-Race Mountain Bike Series, organised by Welsh Cycling, and won my age category a few times as I moved up through the age groups. I came third in my first Welsh Mountain Bike Series race (WMBS), when I was 9 years old, which I was very happy with. My first win in this series was when I was 11 years in Builth Wells. Since then I have come 2nd in the Welsh Mountain Bike Championships and in 2016 I won the WMBS and competed in all of the British Mountain Bike Series, with my best result being 8th in Dalby Forest. I have also raced Marsh Tracks Summer Series in 2016... -

Road Racer. Bio: I started cycling when I was 10 years old, not competitively, just for fun. I always looked up to my Dad on his road bike, going out on the local club rides so I decided to give it a go. I went to my local kids session in Rhyl for a couple of years. At the time I was a big swimmer as well. This lead me to competing in Triathalon when I was 12, competing all over the place and achieving some good results at Welsh national level. I didn't really enjoy riding and running in sodden lycra and drenched trainers, so I stuck..... -

Bio: I first started riding my bike when I was four. I started racing for fun on my mountain bike, I enjoy going to Llandegla, I prefer going uphill rather than downhill though. I entered a few go ride cross country races and really enjoyed it, especially when I won a couple. I got my first road bike 2 years ago, I started racing Go ride and won my first race in Birkenhead Park. I rode quite a few races last year, i raced regularly at Litherland, Southport, Birkenhead Park and Marsh Tracks. Marsh tracks is my favourite and I have had had 3 wins there too... -

For the last few years I’ve participated in a few criterium races and this year as a junior I hope to progress in road racing. I started cycling when I was 10 to help with triathlon and started racing when I was about 12. Team Lead (On behalf of the Marsh Tracks Board of Directors) Bio: In relation to cycling, as this is a cycling team, I got my first "proper" 5 speed road bike at the age of 9. So that was 1978. Jack Hughes built it up for me, great job he did too. I was the envy of all my friends and I went everywhere on it. I had a string of road bikes and lots of fad bikes throughout the years. I went everywhere on my bike. As I had a family and new career (I started off as an electronics engineer in Aerospace - still don't know why..... -

I am fourteen years old and I race in MTB XC, Cyclocross and Road. I have been racing for about four years now, and in 2016 I represented wales in MTB XC which I am very proud of. I started to race when I was ten in MTB XC at the Go Ride races and I ended up doing very well in the Series coming first. It was a couple months after I started to race MTB XC that I realised that to progress I had to improve fitness and one way of doing this was to begin road riding. After training for a while I was introduced to the Welsh MTB XC series, and I did my first proper race...
